New Zealand City Birds T2.png

"New Zealand City Birds" is a captivating photographic reportage that showcases the diverse avian inhabitants found in cities and parks across New Zealand. Through a series of stunning portraits, this project highlights the beauty and resilience of these feathered creatures thriving in urban environments.

From the serene parks and green areas around Aotearoa, I tried to capture the vibrant and often overlooked wildlife that coexists with human populations. The photographs reveal the intriguing behaviours and unique characteristics of each species, providing viewers with an intimate glimpse into their lives.

By documenting these city-dwelling birds in their natural urban habitats, "New Zealand City Birds" seeks to raise awareness about the importance of preserving green spaces and promoting biodiversity within our urban environments.

The project celebrates the resilience and adaptability of these birds while inviting viewers to reflect on the coexistence between humans and wildlife in urbanised settings.

Through my work I invite you to connect with and appreciate the avian residents that bring joy and vibrancy to

our New Zealand's cityscapes.
